Since MVS Poole was formed 30 years ago (alongside the national MVS charity), our primary form of community engagement has been carried out by helping Poole’s Harbour Master to patrol and assist other harbour users.
Our patrols have always been carried out during daylight – the times when most visitors to the harbour are enjoying all that it has to offer.
That is, until now.
On Monday 5th August, we carried out our first night patrol to help out Poole Harbour Watch. The Harbour Watch scheme is all about providing a deterrent to waterborne crime during the hours of darkness.
The scheme is made up of various organisations active within the harbour. We’re proud to offer our support and hope to help make a difference.
Huge thanks to our crew, skippered by Alan and accompanied by Martin, Barry, Scott and Rose for staying out late to do their bit!
