Our Boats

At the moment we run five vessels. Our members reguarily train on a single screw displacement launch, Tom Sherrin, a twin screw semi-displacement launch, Avocet, a rigid dory named Mavis and a RIB, as yet un-named, and a jet-ski, Vasco. We have long term plans to supplement our present collection of vessels with a larger sea-going boat which will have accomodation and allow us to carry out training excercises further out to sea sometimes over several days. We will also visit other MVS units around the coast of Britain.

We often get the opportunity to train on larger vessels by visiting other units such as Gosport with her ex fleet tender Appleby, City of London with Londinium I which is a forty five foot Nelson. In May 2011 we are having a visit from East Sussex I, a larger boat, on which we will get a couple of days training.
